Ever since I was first made a minister in 2011, I have won 107 national awards for exemplary performance and achievements in the fields of municipal administration and rural self-governance.

  • In 2018-19 – An award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi when Tamil Nadu was ranked No. 1 state in the country in the rural hygiene survey.
  • 2011-12 – Rashtriya Gaurav Grama Sabha Award 1 (Medhalodai Panchayat, Ramanathapuram District)
  • 2011-12 – 4 National Awards under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme; 2 district-level, 1 Panchayat Union-level, and 1 Village Panchayat level
  • 2012-13 – National Award for Tamil Nadu under the category of community contribution for effective implementation
  • 2012-13 – 3 National Awards under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (1 district-level, 1 Panchayat Union-level, and 1 Village Panchayat-level)
  • 2012-13 – 9 National Awards for strengthening the Panchayats (6 Gram Panchayats, 2 Panchayat Unions, 1 District Panchayat Union)
  • 2012-13 – 1 Rashtriya Honorary Gram Sabha Award (Nedunkulam Panchayat, Thiruvannamalai District)
  • 2013-14 – 3 National Awards under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme; 1 district-level, 1 Panchayat Union-level, and 1 Village Panchayat-level
  • 2014-15 – E-Panchayat Puraskar Award for the state of Tamil Nadu for excellent implementation of e-governance schemes
  • 2014-15 – 9 National Awards for strengthening the Panchayats (6 Gram Panchayats, 2 District Panchayat, 2 Panchayat Unions)
  • 2017-18 – 5 National Awards under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, given by the Central Government
  • 2017-18 – Central Government’s national award for Thuthukudi district under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan movement
  • 2018-19 – Prime Minister’s National Award for Tamil Nadu for being ranked the No. 1 state in the rural Cleanliness survey
  • 2018-19 – Centre’s E-Panchayat Puraskar award to Tamil Nadu for the excellent implementation of information technology.
  • 2018-19 – 12 national awards including ones for excellent functioning of Panchayats, skill enhancement, strengthening the Panchayat systems, and the Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha award
  • 2018-19 – 8 National Awards under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (2 state-level, 4 district-level, 1 Panchayat Union-level, and 1 Village Panchayat-level)
  • 2018-19 – 2 awards, including the national award for excellence, given by the state institute of rural development and panchayat raj
  • 2018–19 – National-level gold medal for imparting job-related skill enhancement training under the Deendayal Upadhyay Scheme
  • 2018-19 – 2 national awards for overall excellence in National Rurban Scheme
  • 2019 – A staggering 31 national awards for the excellent performance of the Panchayat bodies
